“…also plans finished for fourteen three-story brick houses, with brownstone trimmings at Forty-ninth and Markets streets, Phila., for J.H. Carter, 2134 Arch Street. Dimensions 16x50 feet, tin roof, modern conveniences, stained glass, tiling, hot air heating, etc…” (1890) According to the 1894 Gopsill directory, a J.H. Carter worked in real estate with an office at 249 S. 6th Street.
