1890. Dr. W.P. Painter. 1016 Main Street, Darby, PA

"Minerva Parker has made plans for a house for Dr. W.P. Painter, to be 2 1/2 stories high, local stone, slate roof, shingle gables, hard-wood finish, heat not yet decided on, stained and plate glass windows." (1890) William Painter, with wife Margaret Middleton Painter, lived in Darby, Delaware County, Pennsylvania. He ran an art school out of his house and barn (likely this building). He died in 1919 at the age of 78 years; Margaret Painter died in 1900 at the age of 54 years.
